Location

On the south-eastern city limits of Kassel, between the districts of ‘Bettenhausen’ and ‘Waldau’, lies the established residential area of ‘Forstfeld’. With a direct connection to the city centre and the A7 motorway, the arterial road ‘Leipziger Straße’ runs to the north. There are excellent public transport connections. A tram and a bus stop, each with connections to the city centre, Wilhelmshöhe railway station and the Bergpark World Heritage Site, are within five minutes’ walking distance.

Shopping

There is a food market, a pharmacy and an ATM bank branch in the immediate vicinity. A recommended bakery with a café and a good ice cream parlour are about a 10-minute walk away. Towards the city centre, directly on ‘Leipziger Strasse’, there is a large supermarket, an Aldi supermarket, another bakery and a drugstore.

As the economic centre of northern Hesse, Kassel city centre offers plenty of potential for an extensive shopping spree. In addition to the classic retailers, there are also speciality shops, such as the nationally renowned vinyl store Scheibenbeißer. But to be honest, the pedestrian zone is not very pretty :-(. In the much more attractive student quarter ‘Vorderer Westen’, you will also find a variety of individual shops.

A little further away is the Frau-Holle-Land Geo-Park with the ‘Hoher Meißner’ in the centre, as well as the nature parks ‘Habichtswald’, ‘Reinhardswald’ and the ‘Kellerwald / Edersee’ region.

The beautiful cycle routes along the Fulda or Eder rivers are about four kilometres away.
